The town this month received an application to build a 3,500-square-foot home on a .19-acre parcel on Whitney Avenue where a house about one-third of that size now stands.
The new single-family house at 16 Whitney Ave. will include four bedrooms, five full bathrooms, one half-bath, a finished attic and basement and 2-car attached garage, according to a building permit application filed Nov. 9.
It will cost $450,000 to build, the application said.
The architect and contractor on the job is Moon Chun of Darien, it said.
Formerly the home of Patrick Smith, the Whitney Avenue property was purchased in July for $555,000, tax records show.
No demolition permit has yet been issued.
