The town on April 4 received an application to build a 7,827-square-foot home on West Hills Road.

The new house at 85 West Hills Road will include five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half-baths, according to a building permit application. It will include a three-car garage and pool house.
It will cost about $2 million to build and the contractor on the job is Greenwich-based Premier Home Builders LLC, the application said. The architect is Neil Hauck Architects LLC of Darien, it said.
The 2.68-acre property (in the 2-acre zone) had been purchased for $1.5 million in October, tax records show.
The managing partner of the ownership company, 85 West Hills Road LLC, is a Greenwich man, according to records on file with the Connecticut Secretary of the State.
A demolition permit was issued in January for the 1951-built ranch-style house that had stood on the property.

The New Canaan Building Department on April 2 received an application to build a two-family home at 74 Forest St.—a closely followed property where an antique house that had been cited for blight used to stand.

Each unit in the new house will include a bit more than 2,000 square feet, with 12 rooms, three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a half-bath, according to the application. Each also will include about five feet of crawl space and a pull-down attic, it said.
The estimated cost of construction is $350,000, according to the application.
The contractor on the job is Thomas Sturges Construction LLC of Stamford. The architect is Doug MacMillan of Ridgefield.
The .3-acre property, in the B Residential zone, had been purchased for $603,750 last July by a limited liability company whose managing partners are two New Canaan men, according to records on file with the Connecticut Secretary of the State. A different LLC controlled by the same men still owns it.
