Police arrested an 80-year-old East Hills Drive last Tuesday for shoplifting a pair of $34.99 reading glasses from a Pine Street pharmacy.

At about 4:22 p.m. on Sept. 15, an employee woman spotted the woman entering a restroom at the business with both a pair of sunglasses and the reading glasses, according to a police report.

She exited the bathroom with the reading glasses in her back pocket, and attempted to leave without paying for the merchandise, the report said.

Police charged her with sixth-degree larceny.

She was released after promising to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
