Police on Wednesday arrested a 48-year-old New Canaan woman by warrant for drunk driving in connection with a single-car crash on Silvermine Road.
The woman’s blood-alcohol level tested at .35, according to a police report—more than four times the legal limit.
The crash occurred in the area of Silvermine Road and Carter Street at about 12:51 p.m. on Oct. 2, a Monday, the report said.
When police arrived, they saw that a vehicle had traveled off of Silvermine Road and crashed into a stone wall, it said. The car had one occupant and officers smelled alcohol on the woman’s breath during a subsequent investigation, police said.
She was transported to the emergency room at Norwalk Hospital to be evaluated for injuries, the report said. Police later secured a search warrant to obtain her blood-alcohol content, the report said, and it came back at .35.
The woman turned herself in at about 1:58 p.m. on Jan. 10, on charges of driving under the influence and failure to drive right.
She was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 24 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
