Police on Sept. 8 arrested a 30-year-old New Canaan woman following a domestic dispute.
At about 10:30 a.m. on that Friday, police received a complaint from the victim in a dispute that had occurred in an Avalon Drive residence, officials said.
Police conducted an investigation and, as a result, charged the New Canaan woman with disorderly conduct.
It isn’t clear what the dispute involved, whether or how the victim and arrested woman are related or what prompted police to bring the misdemeanor charge. Police withheld further information, saying the incident has been classified as a domestic matter. Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person, among other reasons.
Police released the woman on $5,000 bond and scheduled her to appear Sept. 11 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
