Police cited two New Canaan teenage boys last week for possession of alcohol by a minor after they failed field sobriety tests when police saw them walking at night along Oenoke Ridge.

The teens, 16 and 17, were walking south toward God’s Acre, in the area of an underage party that police were alerted to when it started getting loud, according to a police report.

When the boys saw the officer, one of them could be seen tossing a silver beer can into some bushes, the report said.

On approaching the boys, an officer saw they had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes and were unsteady on their feet, the report said.

The 17-year-old handed the officer a full can of beer, the report said.

Each was cited for the infraction offense.
