Police arrested an 18-year-old Bridle Path Lane man for driving under the influence before dawn last Friday night.
At about 1:38 a.m., an officer running radar clocked a motor vehicle traveling 60 mph in a 40 mph zone traveling on Route 123 near Country Club Road, according to a police report.
The motorist slowed down when he saw the officer pull out and police pulled him over, the report said.
After police detected signs of drunkenness (glassy eyes, odor of alcohol), the driver failed field sobriety tests, the report said.
He was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear June 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police arrested an 18-year-old Great Neck, N.Y. man on an assault charge last Thursday following an altercation with a staff member at a local psychiatric hospital.
The teen, a patient there, is accused of punching a 28-year-old employee of the hospital while he and another staffer tried to restrain the patient, according to a police report. The 18-year-old had appeared with a full water bottle inside a sock and started swinging it like a weapon, the report said.
His punch caught the staff member in the nose, and he threw the water bottle, too, the report said.
He was charged with assault on a healthcare worker and disorderly conduct. The teen was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear July 9 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

A 17-year-old Norwalk man was cited on a minor drug charge after telling police that he owned the small amount of marijuana found inside a car in which he was a passenger.
At about 8:01 p.m. on June 24, an officer stopped a black Honda Accord that was clocked traveling 40 mph on Main Street near Oak (a 25 mph zone), according to a police report.
The officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the car during a subsequent stop, and a search of the vehicle yielded a clear plastic baggie with a small amount of pot and three marijuana cigarettes, the report said.
There were three people in the car and the 17-year-old said the drugs were his. His case was referred to the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Bridgeport, where he is scheduled to appear July 1.
