New Canaan police said that a Stamford man already arrested for a November burglary on Michigan Road now is being charged with stealing $20,000 in jewelry and TVs from an Oenoke Ridge home about two years earlier.

According to a press release issued by Police Chief Leon Krolikowski, Miguel A. Palencia—brought up Tuesday on charages for the 2011 burglary—left fingerprint evidence on a Coca-Cola bottle found inside the Oenoke Ridge home.

“This arrest was the result of the hard work and dedication of the members of the New Canaan Police Department’s Investigative Section and Patrol Division as well as the Connecticut State Forensic Laboratory,” Krolikowski said in the press release. “Palencia is a suspected serial burglar, has a criminal history and is currently being held on $75,000.00 bond.”

He faces first-degree burglary and larceny charges. Police already had arrested Palencia in connection with a Nov. 8 burglary in town. In that incident, police have said they suspected a second burglar entered the home, and that children were in the house sleeping at the time.

The charges brought this week are connected to an Oenoke Ridge Road burglary that occurred some time between 7:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2011.

Palencia is being arraigned at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
