Police last week arrested a 48-year-old Jelliff Mill Road man in connection with a warrant held by a law enforcement agency in upstate New York.
New Canaan Police took the town resident into custody at his home at about 8:05 p.m. on Feb. 24, shortly after getting word about the active and extraditable warrant from the New York state attorney general’s office in Oneida County, N.Y.
It isn’t clear what the original charges involved.
New Canaan Police charged the man as a fugitive from justice, under a state law that includes when someone has escaped from confinement or has broken the terms of his bail, probation or parole.
He was held without bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 27 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
