New Canaan Man, 39, Arrested After Domestic Violence Incident

Police on Tuesday morning arrested a 39-year-old New Canaan man following a domestic incident at his home.

At about 11:20 a.m. on Feb. 19, officers were dispatched to the Hillside Avenue home on a report of a domestic violence incident between two occupants there, officials said.

Following an investigation, police charged the man with the misdemeanor charge.

It isn’t clear what the argument involved, whether or how the victim is related to the man or whether it turned physical.

Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when he or she, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person, among other reasons.
