OCTOBER 7 EVENT IN NEW CANAAN DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE LIVES OF SENIOR DRIVERS
WHAT: People’s United Bank will host a free Yellow Dot Day with the New Canaan Police Department on October 7, 10:00 a.m., at the Lapham Community Center in Waveny Park.
WHY: The Yellow Dot Program was created by People’s United Bank and can help save the lives of seniors during automobile emergencies. According to AAA, seniors represent the fastest-growing segment of drivers. Yet seniors have a higher death rate per mile driven than any other demographic and 95% of them use medications that may impair their driving. In the event of an automobile emergency, the People’s United Bank Yellow Dot program is designed to alert emergency personnel to vital information about the car’s elderly driver that has been stored in the glove compartment of the vehicle.
WHO: Sandra B. Graf, VP, FSM, People’s United Bank New Canaan Branch, Roy Adams, New Canaan Police Department, Stephanie Dalia, President, New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Lieutenant Don Gesualdi, New Canaan Fire Department, will be on hand to assist seniors in signing up for the Yellow Dot program. New Canaan First Selectman, Robert Mallozzi will be presenting a proclamation declaring October 7, 2015 as Yellow Dot Day.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Lapham Community Center, Waveny Park, New Canaan, CT.
