New Canaan EMS to Host Community Open House

Meet the Corps, Learn the Heimlich, Enjoy Food, Games + Giveaways

September 10, 2018 New Canaan, CT— New Canaan Emergency Medical Services (NCEMS), the 911 provider of emergency medical services to the town of New Canaan, invites the community to an Open House, to be held at its headquarters at 182 South Avenue, Sunday, September 30, 11:00am-1:00pm.

The Open House is a great way to learn more about the emergency services that NCEMS provides for New Canaan. It also provides an opportunity for those interested in joining us to learn more about becoming an EMT. All ages are encouraged to attend. The event will feature:

Light food and drinks

Ambulance Tours

Fire Truck Tours

Police Squad Car Tours

Free Blood Pressure Checks

Coloring Books + Stickers Giveaways

Reflective Mailbox Numbers Giveaways

File of Life Magnet Giveaways

Guests are also invited to join special demonstrations of Compressions Only CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Heimlich from 11:30am-12:00pm for adults CPR and 12:00pm-12:00pm for children.

“New Canaan EMS has provided life-saving care through its volunteer corps since 1975,” said Alison Bedula, President of the Corps, “We provide the community with the highest level of care and strive to educate the community on emergency preparedness. NCEMS is a 100% volunteer-led organization that responds to over 1850 emergency calls per year in New Canaan and surrounding towns. Our Corps EMTs are highly trained to the exact standards the State of Connecticut requires.
