Music @ New Canaan Library: Performance by International Guitarist, Composer and Songwriter Hiroya Tsukamoto

FreeMusic @New Canaan Library continues its tradition of offering first class musical programs with a performance by international guitarist, Hiroya Tsukamoto. The event takes place on Sunday, November 5 at 2 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
Hiroya Tsukamoto’s earthy, organic sound imparts a mood of peace and tranquility, taking the listener on an innovative, inspiring journey. His style of performing is described as cinematic guitar poetry: a blend of folk, jazz and Japanese roots, creating a unique and powerful sound. Hiroya also introduces some Japanese folk music with the stories behind the songs.
Hiroya Tsukamoto is a guitarist and composer originally from Kyoto, Japan. He relocated to the U.S. when he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Since then, he has performed internationally, including several appearances with his group at Blue Note in New York and released six albums as a leader. He also performed and appeared on major televisions internationally such as NHK (Japanese National Television) and EBS in Korea.
