New Canaan Parents 4 Kids is partnering with the Studio and New Canaan Dance Academy for InterActive Talent Show to teach, share and create. The event kicks off with a mini jazz class for all ages, followed by musical theatre class and performances. There will be High school students teaching a performing arts piece, and an open mic time.

“We invite children with different talents to pop in and showcase. They can also be a part of creating a song about New Canaan. We ask the community to share ‘What New Canaan means to me,’ write a rhyme, poem or a melody and come by at the Pop Up park to perform it or find inspiration and create one at the event. We are going to collect small creative contributions from people of all ages, and put them together in one warm and witty song that will bring much pride,” said Kremena Doust, NCP4K.

“Since New Canaan doesn’t already have its own ‘Fight Song,’ we are looking forward to the start of something new,” added Tucker Murphy, NC Chamber of Commerce.

InterActive talent Show is held on Tuesday, August 23rd, 4.30-6.30pm at Pop Up Park, New Canaan, Corner of Elm St/South Ave. Ideas for words and melodies are welcome ahead of time. Send them to ncp4kteam@gmail.com
