Stamford, CT-September 23, 2015 – The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable series lunch presentation by Mary Galligan on “Cyber Security and the Importance of Resiliency”. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on October 7, 2015. The cosponsor of the event is General Reinsurance Corporation.

Galligan recently retired from the FBI after more than 25 years’ service. In 2013, she became the New York Office’s first female Special Agent in charge. She served as Special Agent in Charge of the New York Office’s Special Operations and cyber division, leading more than 400 employees in the largest technical and physical surveillance operation in the Bureau’s field offices. She supervised some of the FBI’s largest and most high profile investigations — including the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Galligan is currently a director with Deloitte & Touche LLP’s security and privacy practice. She advises senior executives at Fortune 500 firms on crisis management challenges, in particular cyber risks.

“The level, sophistication and frequency of cyber-attacks on businesses and government require businesses to think beyond their own organization,” Galligan said. “They need to think about cyber security in the context of their industry, government and law enforcement,” she added.

Galligan holds a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, a master’s degree in psychology from the New School for Social Research and an honorary doctorate of law from Marian University. She is also an FBI-certified Crisis Negotiator and Crisis Manager.

The cost for the lunch and presentation is free for AR series members, $40 for Forum members and $55 for the general public. The event will start promptly at 12:00 P.M. with a lunch buffet. The presentation will begin at 12:45 P.M. and Ms. Galligan will take questions.
