NCHS Boys Varsity Squash Sweeps Rye; Next Up: Darien

The NCHS Boys Varsity A team faced off against Rye High School on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

The boys defeated Rye without giving up any games:

  • Killian Bubrosky, playing #1, defeated Spencer Hunt 11-4, 11-6, 11-0.
  • Hal Holappa in the #2 spot, played John DiPalma and won 12-10, 11-4, 11-2.
  • Christian Megherby at #3, beat Charlie Flynn 11-7, 11-5, 11-6.
  • Kyle Finnican at #4 defeated Chris Julian 11-3, 11-6, 11-9.
  • Will Gruseke, at #5, was victorious over Peter Latara, winning 11-1, 11-8, 11-7.
  • Sam Havens at #6 beat Mason Baldwin, 11-8, 11-5, 11-2.
  • Teddy Holappa at #7 won against Ken Nakamura, 11-5, 11-4, 11-5.

The Rams next and final match-up in the Fairwest League will be on Jan. 28 at Chelsea Piers against Darien High School.

Following the completion of their Fairwest schedule, the Rams will travel to the U.S. High School Team Squash Championships in the Hartford area the weekend of Feb. 6 to 8.
