A sincere thank you to the more than 300 participants in New Canaan Library’s 7th Annual Literary Luncheon held on Nov. 13th at Woodway Country Club which featured celebrated “Orphan Train” author, Christina Baker Kline.

For an afternoon, we were transported to a train platform that led us all on a journey to the early part of the 20th Century when children were removed from the streets of New York and sent west in a labor program led by the Children’s Aid Society.

We are grateful to the remarkable storytelling ability of Ms. Kline who kept our audience rapt with attention. Thank you to the remarkable committee of volunteers who made it happen. We are also very grateful for the generosity of our guests who helped to raise important funds for the benefit of New Canaan Library, especially TD Bank, our presenting sponsor, who has supported our efforts loyally for the past five years.

We also wish to thank the many corporate and local sponsors who supported us in this endeavor including Christine Saxe & Associates, Bacco Inc., New Canaan Wine Merchants, Elm Restaurant, New Canaan Health Fare, Bon Fleur, Vineyard Vines, Taylors Luggage, Valerie Wilson Travel, Fitness Fusion, the NC Nature Center, Le Boudoir, the YWL Holiday Market, M Milestones, Elm Street Books, Sokushindo and Playland Nursery School.

This was a sold-out event – we thank our wonderful and curious community for its great support of our programs. Thank you!
