Dear Editor,
Community is more than where we live; it’s how we live. In New Canaan, we are so fortunate to live in what I call a community of choice. We choose to work together with our neighbors to make our Town the best it can be. In the spirit of community banking, Bankwell in New Canaan is a wonderful role model. The leadership of the Bank understands our special community and seeks to highlight what is unique and extraordinary about New Canaan.

Last week, we
celebrated the opening of an exhibit of photographs from our “I ♥ New Canaan” contest. We received 105 entries from 23 local photographers showing people, places, and events that they love about our community. We wanted to share our favorites with our neighbors and Bankwell offered to display the photos in their Elm Street branch, and hosted a free opening reception for the photographers and members of our community. The show is a wonderful testament to the affection and respect we have for New Canaan.
On behalf of the New Canaan Community Foundation, I would like to thank Bankwell in New Canaan for their leadership in our community. We appreciate their exemplary support of our efforts and commend Bankwell for once again showing their spirit of local charity! Stop by and see the photos and tell the staff you appreciate using their branch as a public gallery space. The deadline for our 2015 contest is September 14th. Show us what you ♥ about New Canaan!
