Investigations: Missing Credit Cards, Stolen Wallet

Police are investigating a 40-year-old Meadow Lane woman’s report on Thursday that credit cards had been stolen from the top dresser of her bedroom.

At about 10:29 a.m., the woman told police that she noticed the three credit cards missing on July 21.

Her home showed no forced entry the cards had not immediately been used, according to a police report.

A 20-year-old woman told police last Thursday that her wallet had gone missing from a bag she brought to Waveny House the prior day. At about 1:15 p.m. on July 22, the woman had set her bag down in the kitchen prior to working a job as a summer program counselor, and when she returned the wallet was missing from it (including her driver’s license, credit card and other identification).

The Waveny House is open to the public. Police are investigating.

Police arrested two people warrant who had failed to appear in court to answer infraction summonses.

A 51-year-old New Canaan woman who had been issued a speeding ticket was released on $260 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 4 in state Superior Court.

Also, a 42-year-old Stamford man who had been cited for unsafe backing last year was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear the same day.
