Police before dawn Wednesday arrested a 37-year-old New Canaan man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 5:15 a.m., authorities received a call about a truck stopped in the middle of Route 123 near Locust Avenue, according to a police report.
There, officers found the man asleep in the driver’s seat, the report said.
On speaking with the man, a Main Street resident, police smelled alcohol, it said.
The man failed field sobriety tests and later tested for a blood-alcohol level of .21, more than 2.5 times the legal limit, police said.
He was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 9 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
