Police before dawn Sunday arrested a 23-year-old Norwalk man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 1:20 a.m. on Sept. 10, an officer on patrol spotted a car traveling northbound on New Norwalk Road at a high rate of speed and swerving into the southbound lane, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath, the report said.
He failed field sobriety tests and, at police headquarters, tested at a blood-alcohol level of .13, more than half again as much the legal limit, it said.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear Sept. 21 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
