A 58-year-old Milford man was charged with driving under the influence Sunday night after police spotted him driving erratically near South Avenue at Farm Road.
At about 8:41 p.m. on June 14, police received a call about the driver and his gray Jeep, and spotted him traveling north on South Avenue, according to a police report.
He veered widely in turning right onto Farm Road and police pulled him over on Field Crest Road, the report said.
The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on the motorist’s breath and noticed that he was slurring his speech, the report said.
He failed field sobriety tests and was additionally cited for making an improper turn and failure to signal.
The man was scheduled to appear June 25 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
