New Canaan Police on Wednesday said investigators have received more than 1,200 tips in the case of a local woman missing since May 24. Since issuing a call for video surveillance in the case of Jennifer Dulos, nearly 80 businesses and residents responded, according to Lt. Jason Ferraro. “In addition both physical and digital evidence is continuing to be processed and reviewed to aide in the investigation,” Ferraro said. On the same day, the two-month mark since Dulos’s disappearance, family friend Carrie Luft issued a statement. “We miss her beyond words,” it said. “Please know that the five children are doing well, surrounded by love and support.”

The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday voted 3-0 to approve the $8,000 purchase of a new ice machine for Waveny House. The machine, from Stamford-based BTU Systems LLC, will replace a 19-year-old unit that keeps having different types of problems, Recreation Director Steve Benko told the Board.

The owner of a commercial building at 52 East Ave. on Monday filed a complaint in state Superior Court to evict Frame & Art Gallery LLC. The tenant hasn’t paid the $2,700 monthly rent since September, according to the complaint.

Police at 12:50 a.m. on July 19 cited an 18-year-old Saratoga Springs, N.Y. man for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana after finding him sitting on a bench in Waveny after sundown with a lit joint.

The CT Rams, a 12-and-under fast-pitch softball team composed mostly of New Canaan girls, has named Stamford’s Rita Jagodzinski as head coach. The tournament travel team will hold tryouts from 7 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 12 at Waveny. Jagodzinski earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Springfield College.
