A prominent commercial building in the heart of downtown New Canaan sold for about $2 million last week.
The brick exterior, two-story structure at 21 South Ave., whose street-level tenants include an organic mattress shop, was purchased by a limited liability company whose principal runs a Bedford, N.Y.-based engineering firm, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records.
The 3,456-square-foot building was transferred Oct. 18 to 21 S. Avenue Property LLC, according to files in the Town Clerk’s office.
The sale price was $2,017,500. It had been purchased in 1989 by Sandor Kaali-Nagy for $826,000, tax records show.
