Police on Monday arrested a 32-year-old Pennsylvania man after he entered an office downtown without permission and tried to make off with a key and passport.
At about 1:04 p.m. on Dec. 26, officers were dispatched to a building near the train station, on a report of a suspicious man seen rummaging through an office inside, according to a police report.
Arriving at 220 Elm St., police encountered the Lancaster, Penn. man and found that he had entered the building without authorization and taken a key to it as well as a U.S. passport, the report said.
He was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.
Police held the man on $10,000 bond and scheduled him to appear Dec. 27 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
