Police are investigating Radio Shack’s report that a young white man purchased a set of Beats headphones with 15 counterfeit $20 bills.

At about 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 27, a man described as about six-foot-one, entered the Park Street store, paying the $319 price with one $20 bill that looked real and 15 fake ones, according to a police report.

The sales associate suspected they were counterfeit and notified a manager who took the bills to Bank of America, where that suspicion was confirmed, the report said.

Radio Shack by company policy has no video cameras, police said.
