Animal Control: Kittens Found Loving Homes

The kittens that were put up for adoption through New Canaan Animal Control in late July have found loving homes, according to Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm.

Two of the three that were rescued on Locust Avenue last month needed families immediately, while the third was sent to Just Cats, a feline-only veterinary hospital, for rehabilitation.

The silver female tabby put up for adoption will now reside in the home of New Canaan Police Officer Kelly Coughlin, who will adopt her on Monday.

The second kitten, a brown male, was handed over to Dr. Daniel Hochman of Grove Street Veterinary. “He had a client who was looking for a kitten,” Halm said. “I turned the kitten over to him for a health check, and then the adoption went through.”

The third kitten that was saved is now receiving help from Friends Of Felines in Stamford. Halm is optimistic about the future of this cat and believes that Friends of Felines will be able to help place him in a good home.
