Acting on an anonymous tip, police broke up an underage drinking party at a Field Crest Road home at about 11:43 p.m. on Feb. 22 and brought minor misdemeanor and infraction charges against four New Canaan teens.

Police found 20 beer cans and marijuana paraphernalia downstairs at the home after the 18-year-old who lives there let them in, according to a police report. The youth told police that his parents were not home, Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said.

Charges brought against the teens—three 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old—ranged from possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, to possession of liquor, police said. A fifth teen, 19, was on scene but not charged, Ogrinc said.

Police found the beer as well as marijuana, rolling papers, a grinder and glass bong, Ogrinc said.

The 18-year-old resident of the home was scheduled to appear March 6 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
