Police arrested a 20–year-old Jelliff Mill Road man on alcohol-related charges on Saturday night after they found bags of alcohol in his car.

An officer stopped the car as it traveled south on South Avenue at about 9:22 p.m. on June 6, according to a police report.

Looking into the car, the officer saw in plain view some bags on the back seat that contained alcohol such as “twisted tea,” the report said.

Police charged him with possession of alcohol by a minor and third-degree forgery.

The 20-year-old at first told police that the alcohol was his parents’ but that turned out not to be the case, police said. They later found a fake ID on him, the report said.

He was released after promising to appear June 18 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
