Police: Broken Leg for New Canaan Woman Struck by Car at Park and Elm Thursday Night

Police say the 45-year-old New Canaan woman struck by a car while crossing Park Street at Elm Street at about 7:25 p.m. Thursday sustained a broken leg.

According to a press release issued by Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, a car driven by a 24-year-old South Salem, NY man struck her and the motorist immediately stopped and stayed on scene.

The woman was transported by New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Norwalk Hospital, police said.

It’s under investigation.

According to Metro-North Railroad, a train had been due to arrive at the New Canaan train station at 7:16 p.m.
