Police cited a 17-year-old Gower Road girl for possession of alcohol by a minor after breaking up a party at her home Saturday night that was attended by several other teens.

Police were alerted to the house on a noise complaint around 10:26 p.m., according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department. Arriving there with lights flashing, police saw several young people running from the house, according to a police report.

Police could see beer and alcohol in full view, including Bud Light, Miller Lite, margarita mix and malt liquor, Ogrinc said. The host told police that she didn’t supply the alcohol, but that those arriving at the house brought their own, the report said. Her parents were out of town and state, the report said.

While in the house, police took down information on several teens who did not leave the house, including seven 17-year-old boys, four 17-year-old girls, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old male.

Police arrested a 23-year-old Oenoke Ridge Road man at 11:40 p.m. on Aug. 26 (last Tuesday) and charged him with driving under the influence.

He failed field sobriety tests after police stopping him on Cherry Street because the light around his license plate was out, according to a police report.

He didn’t have a driver’s license, only a learner’s permit which meant he should have an adult in the car, police said. The officer smelled alcohol on his breath, noticed his eyes were glassy and he was slow to respond, the report said.

Police additionally charged him with failure to carry a license and failure to have a marker light. He was released on $60 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 8 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
