Police on Thursday afternoon arrested a 66-year-old Ridgefield woman who had backed into a parked car downtown and left the scene earlier in the day.
At about 10:01 a.m. on Jan. 31, officers were dispatched to Morse Court on a report of a crash in the parking lot there, police said.
A witness told officers that one vehicle had backed into another one and then drove away, according to a police report. The witness supplied police with photos of the crash and the license plate of the offending vehicle, the report said.
At about 2 p.m., the woman turned herself in on a misdemeanor charge of evading responsibility and an infraction offense of unsafe backing.
She was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 13 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
