$2,700 Omega Watch Reported Stolen from Silver Ridge Road Home

Police are investigating the reported theft of a $2,700 watch from a Silver Ridge Road home.

At about 9:13 p.m. on Aug. 7, a 45-year-old resident told police that a blue Omega watch said to have been delivered at his home at 1:54 p.m. one day last week wasn’t there as a delivery company had said it would be.

Though the resident had people working at his home during that time, he doesn’t believe they took it, police said.

Police are investigating a town worker’s report that a pair of copper building posts at Mead Park.

The municipal employee, 54, told police on Aug. 8 that the lamps, valued at about $400 apiece, went missing from the Apple Cart Food Co. snack shack some time between Aug. 1 and 8, according to a police report.

A 73-year-old Silvermine Road woman told police that about $2,000 in construction gear went missing from her home some time between 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 and 6:20 a.m. the following morning.

According to a police report, missing items include a DeWalt table saw ($500), six 3-by-5-foot copper sheets ($800), $200 in flashing and about 100 feet in copper gutters and leaders ($500).

Poilce are investigating.

Police at 5:16 p.m. on Aug. 7 arrested a 55-year-old Stamford man by warrant and charged him with second-degree failure to appear.

The original charge stems from a June 20, 2013 arrest on motor vehicle charges. He was released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 20 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
