Spring Break kicked off for many New Canaan families Thursday morning, as the public schools will be closed from April 2 to 13.
Longtime New Canaanites Bill and Dawn McManus decided to surprise their kids Lily, 10, and Finn, 6, with a trip to Disney World, having initially told them they were visiting Bill’s parents in Vero Beach.
Problem was, Finn—who had never been to Disney World—thought they were just visiting Walt Disney the man.
“He has no idea about the park,” McManus told NewCanaanite.com. “Lily just did a fourth-grade report on Walt Disney.”
According to Dawn McManus, the younger McManus sibling—a Kindergartner at South School—was understandably crying because he didn’t want to go to see Walt Disney … because he’s deceased.
After mom and dad—and presumably, big sis—clarified everything, young Finn McManus is now excited for the trip. We wait to hear how it all eventually pans out.
