What’s Open & Closed: Memorial Day Weekend Guide to New Canaan

Monday is Memorial Day, and New Canaan’s well-attended annual parade (this year featuring a brand-new fire truck)— “To remember with gratitude and honor the proud men and women who gave their lives while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces to protect and preserve a life of freedom for all Americans”—will start at 9:30 a.m. up at St. Mark’s. Town Hall and the Post Office both are closed, as are several local businesses and organizations. Waveny Pool is open, on a limited basis, and will open next weekend (May 31) for the season. What follows is a list of what’s open and closed in New Canaan—it’s comprehensive though incomplete, so please add more information to the comments thread and we’ll update it through the weekend.
