New Construction Planned for Sunrise Avenue

The town on July 3 received an application to build a new single-family home at 56 Sunrise Ave. The new three-bedroom home is to include two full bathrooms, a half bath, kitchen, living room, dining room and office, according to the building permit application. The town on July 10 issued a demolition permit for an existing, 1942-built Cape Cod-style home on the .41-acre property in the A Residential zone. The new house will cost an estimated $250,000 to build. The property’s owners are listed as the contractors on the job, and James Quill of Bridgeport-based The Quill Group is the architect, the application said.

New Construction Planned for Smith Ridge Road

The town last week received an application to build a 4,265-square-foot home on Smith Ridge Road where a ranch-style house about half that size now stands. The new home at 133 Smith Ridge Road would have 10 rooms total, including four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and three half-baths, according to a building permit application received July 10. It would cost about $650,000 to build, the application said. The 1.51-acre property was purchased in February for $599,550, tax records show. Its new owner is the contractor on the job, the application said, and PB Architects of Darien is the architect.

New Construction Planned for Kimberly Place

The New Canaan Building Department on June 21 received an application to construct a 4,179-square-foot house on Kimberly Place. The new home at 66 Kimberly Place would include five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, one half-bath and a two-car garage, according to the application. 

Its attic and basement each would be finished, at 826 and 1,144 square feet, respectively. The house will cost an estimated $950,000 to $1 million to build, the application said. A 1941-built Cape-style home stands on the .26-acre property now. 

The property was purchased last month for $925,000 by a limited liability company whose principals are listed as a Stamford builder and a second LLC with a Hillcrest Road address. The Stamford builder is listed as the contractor on the job, Altamura Homes/Luis Altamura.

New Construction Planned for Devonwood Lane

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application to construct a 10,700-square-foot home on a 4.56-acre Devonwood Lane property. The 14-room house planned for 95 Devonwood Lane will include six bedrooms, five full bathrooms, three half-baths and a gym, according to the June 11 application. The property was purchased for $2.4 million in 2014, tax records show. 

It’s owned by Phoenix Holdings LLC, whose managing partner is Eric Strachan of Watertown, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records. Strachan also is listed as the contractor on the job. The home will cost an estimated $1.6 million to build.

The Building Department on May 30 received an application to build a 4,700-square-foot home on a one-acre parcel on Oenoke Lane. The new single-family house planned for 67 Oenoke Lane would include three bedrooms, four bathrooms, one half-bath, fitness room, family room, kitchen with vaulted ceiling and dining room, according to the application. It will cost about $900,000 to build. The contractor on the job is James Kunz of Ridgefield, architect Neil Hauk Architects of Darien. The property had been purchased in August 2016 for $1.2 million, tax records show.
