Police: More Than $8,000 in Merchandise Stolen from Ralph Lauren Store in Three Separate Incidents

Police say more than $8,000 worth of merchandise has been stolen from Ralph Lauren in three separate incidents at the Elm Street store in the past week. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects involved in the second and third larcenies, and police also have license plates numbers on the getaway cars. The first incident occurred on Oct. 3, when two black women entered the store at 51 Elm St., picked up various merchandise worth a total of approximately $300 and left without paying. They wore baseball hats and carried small shopping bags, according to police.

Husband and Wife Arrested After Causing Late-Night Scene on Lambert Road

Police after midnight Sunday arrested a New Canaan husband and wife following a report that she’d been knocking on the front door of a Lambert Road home. At about 12:33 a.m. on Sept. 22, officers arrived in the area and saw the woman getting into a vehicle on Lambert Road near the residence in question, according to a police report. Police stopped the car and found that the 41-year-old man driving it, the husband, had alcohol on his breath, the report said. He was taken into custody on a charge of driving under the influence and refused to undergo a test to establish his blood-alcohol level, it said.

Police: 20-Year-Old Man Charged with Violating a Protective Order

Police on Saturday arrested a 20-year-old Milford man by warrant and charged him with violation of a protective order. 

The order had been issued following an arrest in Milford involving James Myers of Spindrift Lane and a victim, according to a police report. Police here learned of the violation on Sept. 3 and at about 11 p.m. on Sept. 13, the Milford Police Department contacted NCPD to say they had Myers in custody. Police Chief: Thefts from Unlocked Cars in New Canaan 

Police on Friday received complaints of multiple unlocked vehicles that had been entered early that morning, officials said. Items stolen from the vehicles on Summit Ridge and Field Crest Roads include cellphone chargers, loose change, a laptop computer, medication, checks and clothes, according to New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski. “It is probable that these crimes are being committed by gang members,” Krolikowski said in a press release. “Many towns in Fairfield County are experiencing similar crimes.”

New Canaan and other are towns are regularly targeted by car thieves and others, officials have said. The latest news comes days after police arrested a pair of Connecticut residents in connection with residential burglaries in eastern New Canaan.

Police: New Canaan Man, 45, Charged in Drunken Attempt To Enter Someone Else’s Home

Police after midnight Sunday arrested a 45-year-old New Canaan man found trying to enter a residence on Main Street. At about 2:31 a.m. on Sept. 15, officers were dispatched to the residence on a report of the attempt, according to a police report. The people who live there were woken up by their dogs barking and found the man, a Valley Road resident, trying to get in, the report said. The man showed signs of intoxication and didn’t cooperate with police and investigators who tried to figure out why he was trying to get into someone else’s home, it said.
