New Canaan Police on Wednesday said investigators have received more than 1,200 tips in the case of a local woman missing since May 24. Since issuing a call for video surveillance in the case of Jennifer Dulos, nearly 80 businesses and residents responded, according to Lt. Jason Ferraro. “In addition both physical and digital evidence is continuing to be processed and reviewed to aide in the investigation,” Ferraro said. On the same day, the two-month mark since Dulos’s disappearance, family friend Carrie Luft issued a statement.

Police Chief on Missing Woman Case: Search of Hartford Facility Is Over, Investigation Remains ‘Very Active and Dynamic’

State police on Monday night finished searching a Hartford dump as part of an ongoing investigation in the case of a New Canaan mom of five who’s been missing for one month, officials say. Connecticut State Police concluded a search of a Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority facility in Hartford at about 7:30 p.m. on June 24, New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said in a press release. Investigators from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are “committed” to finding Jennifer Dulos, 50, and “bringing those responsible for Jennifer’s disappearance to justice,” Krolikowski said in the release. “We will not rest until we find Jennifer,” he said. Members of the local police Patrol Division and Investigative Section continue to work in a “very active and dynamic investigation” with the state police Western District and Central District Major Crime Squads as well as federal authorities in the search for Jennifer Dulos, who has been missing since May 24.

The family of Jennifer Dulos released on Friday the following statement through New Canaan Police:

“Four weeks have elapsed since Jennifer Farber Dulos disappeared. None of this feels real. We tell ourselves that this kind of nightmare happens to people in stories, not to those we know and love. 

“But this situation is real, and it is dire. Each passing day intensifies the impact of this tragedy on Jennifer’s children, who have not seen their mother—the guiding presence in their lives—in 28 days. 

“The New Canaan and Connecticut State police are working around the clock to find Jennifer and to solve the mystery of her disappearance. We are immensely grateful for their dedication.

Missing Woman’s Family and Friends: Please Don’t Establish Financial Rewards or Funds in Jennifer Dulos Case

Responding to a young boy’s offer to create a Go Fund Me page in honor of Jennifer Dulos, her family and friends are asking that no such funds be established at this time, police said. New Canaan Police Deputy Chief John DiFederico said in an email Thursday to media that the missing woman’s family and friends want no financial rewards set up in connection with the case. A statement attributed to Carrie Luft described a 7-year-old Wethersfield boy’s offer to put his savings toward a reward to help find Dulos. “His selflessness and generosity have touched our hearts,” the statement said, adding a Biblical reference, “A little child shall lead them.”

“The impact of Jennifer’s disappearance on her five young children, family, and friends is affecting many people in similar ways,” Luft continued in the statement. “We urge this young man to keep his savings, but we honor his impulse.

These gestures of empathy and kinship have helped keep us going. “As the news cycle propels the story of Jennifer’s disappearance forward, we must not lose sight of the enormous human cost of this tragedy: five young children have not seen their mother in 18 days. Jennifer is the constant presence in their lives.
