New Canaan police say authorities have recovered a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been reported stolen June 13 from a parking lot at Talmadge Hill Train Station.
It was found June 20 in West Haven and “not in good shape,” Sgt. Peter Condos said.
The $11,000 car had a set of Titleist golf clubs worth $300 and a gold wedding band worth half as much (in dollars) at the time it was stolen, police have said. Four other vehicles were broken into early on June 13.
When it was recovered, police found items in the Jeep that indicated it was being lived in—including a photo of a small child, sleeping gear like a pillow case and sheets, and stolen license plates.
They’re testing for fingerprints and DNA, Condos said.
