Police before dawn Sunday arrested a 27-year-old New Canaan woman and charged her with disorderly conduct and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.

At about 3:23 a.m. on March 24, officers were dispatched to a Ramhorne Road home on a report of a domestic disturbance involving two residents there, officials said.

Following an investigation, police charged the woman with the misdemeanor offenses.

It isn’t clear what the disturbance involved, whether or how the victim is related to the arrested woman, why police brought two counts, whether the disturbance involved a physical confrontation or, if so, how badly the victim was hurt—police withheld details, saying it was a domestic matter.

Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person, among other reasons.

A person is guilty of first-degree reckless endangerment, under state law, “when, with extreme indifference to human life, he recklessly engages in conduct which creates a risk of serious physical injury to another person.”

Police released the woman after she promised to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
