Police on Friday night arrested a 17-year-old New Canaan male after discovering an underage drinking party at his house.

At about 9:42 p.m. on Oct. 20, officers were dispatched to Comstock Hill Road on a report of a possible youth party, police said.

Responding officers walking toward the residence saw multiple juveniles run into the woods, according to a police report.

They saw empty beer cans on a table and a large black garbage can filled with empty beer cans, the report said.

Police charged the teenager with failure to halt possession of alcohol. The teen’s name was withheld because of his age.

The incident marks the second time in two weeks that police charged a New Canaan teen with the alcohol-related charge following a youth drinking party.
