Police on Saturday night arrested a 27-year-old Bridgeport man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 12, officers were dispatched to Weed Street on a report of a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road, police said.
There, officers saw a vehicle traveling northbound that crossed into the southbound traffic lane and back, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, police detected signs of intoxication in the driver, the report said.
He failed field sobriety tests, it said.
A blood-alcohol test showed that he was nearly 2.5 times the legal limit, the report said.
In addition to DUI and traffic citations, police charged him with sixth-degree larceny, operating without a license, improper use of plates and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
He was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 22 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
