Police before dawn on Monday cited a New Canaan man, 27, on a minor drug charge following a traffic stop on Route 123.
At about 1:56 a.m. on Jan. 16, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle traveling on New Norwalk Road with no front license plate, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, an officer smelled marijuana emitted from inside the vehicle, the report said.
An investigation turned up a glass smoking pipe with a small amount of marijuana inside, it said.
Police cited the motorist, a Lakeview Avenue resident, for possession of drug paraphernalia and issued him a verbal warning about the front license plate.
