Police before dawn Sunday arrested a 19-year-old New Canaan woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 1:56 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on New Norwalk Road because it was not displaying a rear marker light, according to a police report.
The officer smelled alcohol on the driver, who then failed field sobriety tests, the report said. The woman, a Michigan Road resident, also tested at half again as much the legal alcohol limit in a breath test, it said.
She additionally was cited for failure to illuminate the rear marker plate.
Police released the teen on $250 bond and scheduled her to appear June 2 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
