No one was seriously injured in a two-car accident at about 6 p.m. Thursday that slowed traffic at Main Street at Woodland Road for about 45 minutes, according to officials at the scene.
At least one car—a dark-colored sedan—was towed away from the scene on this lightly rainy night. New Canaan firefighters also responded to the scene.
Police at the scene said it isn’t clear yet just how the accident happened. No one was transported to the hospital, officials said.
Main Street northbound snakes to right and then left and also declines slightly just past the intersection—making it difficult for nearby motorists pulling out of Down River Road to see the northbound motor vehicles, especially during the day when headlights are not an indicator.
