Police on Friday afternoon arrested a 50-year-old North Wilton Road man following an unpleasant incident at the New Canaan Parking Bureau.

At about 2:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to the parking bureau—the agency operates out of police headquarters on South Avenue, on the second floor—following a threatening incident there between a customer and employee, according to a police report.

Police investigated and, about an hour later, charged the man with second-degree breach of peace, a misdemeanor-level offense.

It isn’t clear whether the threat was physical or verbal or just what was said.

The man was released after promising to appear May 19 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
