Why We Garden: A Lecture with Landscape Photographer Emily Kelting

Why are so many of us drawn to gardening? New Canaan Library welcomes award-winning photographer and landscape designer Emily Kelting, presenting a visual treat of the gardens she has photographed. Emily presents a nuanced look at why we are compelled to create gardens, be they modest vegetable patches or grand horticultural masterpieces.
Emily Kelting is an award-winning photographer specializing in landscape, travel, and nature photography. She has studied at the International Center of Photography in NYC, the Silvermine Art Center and at betterphoto.com. Emily has taught photography and landscape design at the New York Botanical Garden, Norwalk Community College, and the Rowayton Arts Center. She has also served as a photography judge for the Garden Club of America. Emily now writes for The Huffington Post and Women’s Voices for Change.
