Tee Up to Support STAR and Play Golf with NFL Alumni in the 8th Annual NFL Alumni Celebrity Golf Classic

$1500The 2014 NFL Alumni Connecticut Chapter Celebrity Golf Classic will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Country Club of Darien. Over 26 NFL Alumni will participate in the event that raises funds for children’s charities. This year, STAR’s Rubino Family Center has been selected as a designated recipient for their Early Intervention Programs.
Frank Gifford, New York Giants great and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will serve as Honorary Chair of the event. The NFL Alumni’s motto is “caring for kids” and proceeds from this event historically go to causes that are youth oriented, serving our area. The NFL Alumni Charity Golf Tournament will be a one-day, 18-hole team scramble. Each foursome will be playing with an NFL Alumnus, and the event will include breakfast, lunch, cocktails and an awards dinner. The winning team will advance to the Super Bowl of Golf, the NFL Alumni National Championship Golf Tournament, which will be held at a top rated West Coast golf resort. They will compete against the winners of the other 30 chapter tournaments for the Super Bowl of Golf Ring.
STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way is a not–for-profit organization serving individuals of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families. They create opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing support, services and advocacy. They inform and encourage the community to recognize and appreciate the value of all individuals.
