The NCSG, started in 1931, is comprised of 100 plus members who work throughout the year creating unique, handcrafted merchandise. Among their offerings are embroidered linens, knitted children’s wear, needlepoint accessories, and one-of-a kind doll clothing and gift items. The proceeds of twice yearly sales and Farmer’s Markets are gifted to over 20 local nonprofit organizations in support of health and human services.
“By teaming up with Goldenberry, we are thrilled to be able to offer merchandise previously available only at our boutiques” explains Vice President Robin Leach. “Deb, manager of Goldenberry, approached us with the idea after group member Abby Dunham made her aware of the limitations of the NCSG’s marketing opportunities. Deb is a strong supporter of our mission as a nonprofit, and has graciously lent us her marketing talents and retail expertise to initiate this exciting venture”.
“The NCSG’s extraordinary level of talent is a real treasure here in New Canaan.” says Deb. “I am continually surprised by how many Goldenberry customers are unfamiliar with the organization. I am excited to promote Sewing Group merchandise, and to get the word out to a wider audience about their important fund-raising mission, as well as to make people aware that they, too, can share their artistic talents with the NCSG.”
