Historical Society’s 1st Annual Art, Antiques and Jewelry Show on March 3rd and 4th

$5The 1st Annual Art, Antique and Jewelry Sale to benefit the New Canaan Historical Society will be held on March 3rd and 4th at the Historical Society. A select group of antique dealers will offer a wide array of antique items including vintage and antique jewelry, rare books, prints, paintings, art pottery, silver, and all kinds of items from the 18th century to mid-century.
Among the dealers are Westport’s Joan Beauvais, who will feature Black Forest carvings, dog related antiques and bronzes. Gil Rodriguez of Darien will bring a great selection of rare books and a special display of Bliss Carman memorabilia, a well-known Canadian poet who did most of his writing in New Canaan up to the 1920’s. Patricia Funt, who had a shop on Main Street in New Canaan until 2010, has a wide range of different and amusing antiques, jewelry and small objects. Imperial, run by two Swedish dealers, will offer mid-century pieces from small furniture to jewelry. Maureen Meyer of Silvermine has early antique jewelry and small items such as a boxed pair of 18th century shoe buckles.
The show runs from 10am to 4pm on March 3rd and 11am to 4pm March 4th. The cost of admission is $5 per person and good for both days. For more information, call the Historical Society at (203) 966-1776 or email info@nchistory.org.
